This year, Samsung did not wait long to demonstrate its expertise in the field of ultra-premium smartphones. During the last Galaxy Unpacked in February, the South Korean manufacturer Samsung made official the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra. Real high-end gems with interesting features.

Three phones for three different uses and above all three different prices. There is a price difference of about 400 euros between the classic Galaxy S22 model and the S22 Ultra version. But what justifies such a price difference? We break it all down.

Speaking of prices, Samsung is offering a trade-in bonus for your old smartphone when you buy the Samsung Galaxy S22 during pre-orders that are currently taking place. An additional €100 allowing you to save up to €620 by reselling your old phone. It is enough to reduce the price of the Galaxy S22 to a maximum of 229 euros instead of 859 euros. Not to mention the many perks on offer, such as one-year Samsung Care + insurance and Galaxy Buds Pro on offer.

Galaxy S22 and S22+: compact or large screen?

What are the differences between the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+? In terms of phone sizes, the price difference between the two devices is justified. The Galaxy S22 is a compact terminal with a 6.1-inch screen. In turn, the Galaxy S22 + sports a larger 6.6-inch panel. Therefore, it is designed for users who are looking for a good diagonal to enjoy all streaming content in the best conditions. On the contrary, the Galaxy S22 will appeal to users who do not want a large phone. In both cases, they will benefit from an AMOLED panel with a Full HD + image and a 120 Hz refresh rate, which makes the screen more fluid in all cases.

Hardware is the second difference. The Samsung Galaxy S22 benefits from a 3700mAh battery that supports fast charging (25W wired and 15W induction). The Galaxy S22+ is powered by a 4500mAh battery, which benefits from 45W fast wired charging and 15W wireless power. Therefore, the “+” version is more durable and faster charging than its younger brother. A plus for those who want a smartphone that can accompany them all day.

For the rest, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ are identical. It has to be said that both are based on a great design with slightly rounded edges like the corners for a very pleasant grip. The two smartphones are adorned with multiple colors namely green, white, black and pink. Four additional colors are available only in the official Samsung store: gray, cream, sky blue and purple. So you are guaranteed to have a smartphone that really suits your taste.

Another visible similarity: the rear photo module. Both phones have a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel wide-angle and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens. The latter is at ×3 optical magnification and a cosmic zoom ×30 (digital magnification). Once again, Samsung guarantees excellent photo versatility that can handle all scenarios. Especially since the software part is not left out with very good night modes, time interval or the original AR Doodle mode.

Even the technical indicators are the same. The S22 and S22+ are based on the Exynos 2200 SoC, 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage depending on the model. When it comes to performance, you simply won’t miss it. You can run the most demanding 3D games without suffering from slowdowns.

Galaxy S22 Ultra: big format for big possibilities

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the flagship of this new series, is also the most expensive of the three phones, not without reason. This smartphone is really intended for those who want a device that accompanies them on a daily basis and can work. The Galaxy S22 Ultra adopts a large format of 6.8 inches with a large diagonal. Plus, it integrates the S Pen stylus into its chassis, making it ideal for taking notes or sketching.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is suitable for the needs of both amateur and professional photographers. Its camera unit, which protrudes slightly from the body, includes a 120-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel wide-angle and two 10-megapixel telephoto lenses. The first is 10x optical zoom and a cosmic zoom x100. The second is 3x optical zoom and a cosmic zoom x30. The shots are quite detailed and sharp as well as simply beautiful.

Of course, Samsung’s flagship smartphone has a spec sheet that lives up to its ambitions. Its all-round design is enhanced by a perfectly calibrated Dynamic AMOLED 120 Hz and Quad HD+ display. Under the hood is an Exynos 2200 chip, 8 to 12 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. Suffice it to say, it’s not afraid of any use, especially multitasking.

The ultimate asset: its autonomy. Its 5,000mAh battery gives it significant endurance, while its compatibility with 45W wired and 15W wireless fast charging means it rarely runs out of power.
