What if you finally switch to OLED in 2023? LG presents its CS model in a 55-inch version that can be found on Rakuten at a very affordable price: 899 euros instead of 1299.
In general, the South Korean manufacturer presents a series of TVs at the CES exhibition once a year. However, LG recently released a new reference between the 2021 C1 series and the 2022 C2 series. This is the LG OLEDCS series that takes the design of the C1 but introduces some of the features of the C2. And the advantage is that this new series is better value for money, especially with the 55-inch model benefiting from a nice discount of €400 on its original price during this sales period.
Features of the LG OLED55CS TV
- C1 design with quality OLED panel
- Alpha 9 Gen 5 AI processor
- HDMI 2.1 connectivity is ideal for next-generation consoles
- Not forgetting WebOS22
Instead of €1,299, the LG OLED55CS TV is available for €899 on Rakuten this sale period.
The best of both worlds
LG OLEDCS, this series specially designed for the festive season, is actually a mix between C1 and C2. So while the 55CS certainly doesn’t use the new design of the LG C2 TVs, it makes a strong impression like the C1, with clean lines running the length of the TV, slim bezels and a sturdy metal leg. .
On the other hand, it has the same OLED panel as the 2022 model and shows infinite contrasts, deep blacks and vivid colors and excellent brightness. But above all, the CS series is also based on OLED EVO technology, which allows us to provide a higher brightness peak: so we can count on a screen 20% brighter than the C1 range.
More performance than C2 series
Inside the TV is also an Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor. The latter adds more efficient upscaling technology thanks to more powerful algorithms to more efficiently transfer 1080p content to 4K. . LG CS also supports the best HDR, HDR10, Dolby Vision IQ video standards. As for the audio part, we have virtual 7.1.2 surround sound for a wider sound.
The TV CS is also comfortable with video games, as it has 4 HDMI 2.1 ports, which enable 4K@120fps for next-gen consoles. It includes VRR technologies or variable refresh rate, as well as ALLM, which is perfect for combating the tearing phenomenon. It benefits from a refreshed display at 100Hz, as well as a response time of just 1ms, G-Sync and AMD FreeSync certification.
What’s new in WebOS
This TV is also eligible to use this year’s WebOS 22 interface, which brings some new features like multiple profile management as well as a new game bar. But we don’t have the functionality Always Ready, a permanent sleep mode that gives access to the voice assistant. Of course, you can quickly access advanced programs such as Netflix, Disney +, Prime Video or YouTube. Finally, the TV is also compatible with various voice assistants on the market. AirPlay2 will also be there, allowing you to stream content from your smartphone or tablet.
