LG has been committed to OLED TVs for a long time. It was one of the first manufacturers to make OLED panels available on a large scale, with LG Display making up the vast majority of OLED panels for other TV makers as well.

Of course, the company has a wide range of OLED TVs today, and you can often find models at different price points. For those without the deepest pockets, an OLED TV is no longer too expensive.

Here we cover all of LG’s 2022 models for comparison.

Why should you buy an OLED TV?

For many, OLED is the screen type of choice for high-end TVs. Early in OLED’s history, it was found to offer more design freedom. Because of the way the panel works, TVs can be thinner than their competitors, and that’s what LG is known for.

LG’s OLED TVs are as slim as ever and look great whether you hang them on a wall or use a stand.

But beyond that, OLED has become synonymous with quality. Since each pixel emits its own light (rather than relying on an extra layer for illumination), they can be turned off individually, resulting in deeper blacks and fewer background effects on the screen. This explains the reputation of OLED, which can offer deeper black levels and more accurate colors than some other technologies.

Of course, LG has also followed the HDR race, offering Dolby Vision on its TVs for several years, while many of its displays also support 120Hz, making them ideal for gaming.

LG G2 OLED evo

LG’s flagship TV gallery comes in two new sizes – an 83-inch and a mammoth 97-inch model – as well as the usual culprits.

Like the C2 OLED below, it has the latest features α9 Gen5 AI processing technology by LG this allows for higher brightness than their TVs were previously capable of.

In addition, the AI Sound Pro feature provides virtual 7.1.2 surround sound from the built-in speakers, while the new webOS smart feature streams content from one LG TV to another, including satellite and cable broadcasts.

LG also focuses on gaming with its 2022 OLED TVs. A new gaming optimization menu provides access to relevant settings with the click of a button. There’s a new sports mode for FIFA and more.

You also get four HDMI 2.1 ports, so connecting with a games console or PC can reach 4K 120Hz.

LG C2 OLED

The LG C2 OLED TV comes in several sizes, with some models featuring the same OLED evo panel as the G2 above.

There are different stands depending on the size you choose – and the new 42-inch model means there’s a premium OLED TV in a smaller size, ideal for bedrooms. There are different speaker plans depending on the size you buy.

LG B2 OLED

The LG OLED B series has always been a bit more affordable than the C, and that’s because while it offers an excellent 4K OLED panel, it uses an older processor, the α (Alpha) 7 Gen5 AI.

It still supports the full range of technologies with Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10 Pro, HLG and Filmmaker Mode, as well as Dolby Atmos. But the sound system of this TV is 20 W from the 2.0 speaker structure.

It has 4x HDMI 2.1 and offers a 120 Hz display.

LG A2 OLED

The LG A2 OLED sits at the entry point for LG’s OLED TVs in 2022. In doing so, it makes a few minor cuts to its 60Hz refresh rate – so it’s not a TV suitable for gamers who want high performance.

Otherwise, it offers a full range of TV technologies to make your pictures look great, with B2 OLED, α7 Gen5 AI users with 4K resolution, Dolby Vision IQ, Cinematographer mode and everything in between.

It’s more affordable, but slightly less premium with simpler support. The 2.0 layout has 20W speakers.

LG 8K OLED TVs

If you want to upgrade to 8K image resolution, here are the models to consider.

LG Z2 OLED

Screen sizes: 77 inches, 88 inches
OLED, 7680 x 4320 pixels, Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, HDR10 Pro, HLG, Filmmaker mode

The Z2 is an updated flagship model. However, it is only available in 77 and 88 inches and is quite expensive.

Indeed, this is LG’s 8K OLED TV for 2022, and it has a higher resolution than the aforementioned 4K models. It uses many of the same technologies and packs the same α9 Gen5 AI processor – so you just get an improved pixel count.

The power of the speaker is 80 W in 4.2 channel configuration.
