The best weapon replacements for Xiao in Genshin’s influence
In Genshin Impact, several polearms can be used as Xiao’s replacement weapons if players do not have the Primordial Jade Winged Spear.
Genshin Impact has a few alternate weapons that Xiao can use if players don’t have Primal Jade Winged Spears. The 5-Star Pole weapon is his signature weapon, and the sub-stats it offers match the Yaksha’s last remaining stats. This greatly improves Xiao’s critical rate, allowing players to focus on farming artifacts for critical damage and have less trouble balancing them properly.
Xiao relies heavily on his damage output, and most of it comes from critical damage. Any player trying to get Xiao’s best build in Genshin Impact should equip him with Crit Rate/Damage or ATK. It could either be a Primordial Jade Wingspear specially made for him, or a replacement weapon that meets these requirements.

Given crit rate/damage priority, Xiao’s best immediate replacement weapon in Genshin Impact is Homan’s Staff. Despite being Hu Tao’s signature pole, it matches Liyue’s Demon Hunter stats very well. With the high Critical Damage substat already assigned to the weapon, players should focus on farming Xiao Artifacts with Crit Rate under Genshin’s Effect.
Homa’s staff skill, Reckless Cinnabar, increases HP and also grants bonus HP based on the user’s max HP. When its bearer’s HP is below 50%, the ATK bonus increases further. Regardless of a player’s weapon choice, they will likely be useful as Xiao is naturally one of the strongest DPS characters in Genshin Impact.
