How to download apps on LG Smart TV

To customize your LG TV experience, you must access the LG Content Store.

LG Content Store is the official marketplace for apps, subscriptions and content for LG Smart TVs. You can find it on any TV of the brand with the webOS operating system. Thanks to it, you will be able to download free and paid programs.

Configure the LG Content Store

Before you begin, you need to complete a few preliminary steps. As with other systems, we can download free programs as long as we are registered.

Press the Home button on your LG Smart TV remote to start this process. A typical webOS interface menu will appear. There you should find the red icon or icon with the LG Content Store logo.

Once you’re in, you’ll need to register to continue. This process should only be done the first time. It’s as easy as entering an email address and password. Then we will receive an email that we need to verify to complete this first step.

Find and install apps

Apps are organized in the LG Content Store in a similar way to what you know in other stores that you usually use on your mobile phone.

You can scroll through the categories to find the programs that interest you the most. Similarly, you can navigate to the magnifying glass icon to search precisely for the app you want to install on your TV.

As you can see, it is quite a simple process. We enter the program we want to install, press the buy button and wait a few seconds for the download to be completed and installed on our TV.

You can still see the apps you installed by pressing the Home button on your controller. This will bring up the main menu and you can see the list of apps installed on your Smart TV.

Uninstall or uninstall apps

The opposite can happen. If you are no longer interested in the program, you can delete it. We recommend that you do this when you stop paying the subscription fee, when the application stops working properly or when you start using an alternative service.

Deleting applications allows us to recover part of the internal memory of the TV, which will always allow us to have space for software updates and other programs that may be of interest to us.

There are several ways to do this process, but to avoid confusion, we will do the one common to all versions of webOS.

1. Press the Home button on the remote and re-enter the LG Content Store.
2. Find the “Applications” tab in the Store.
3. Now go to “My Apps” or “My Apps”.
4. A list of all the programs you have installed on your TV will appear.
5. Now find the trash can icon. It should be near the top-right corner of your TV screen, but the location may vary depending on the version of webOS you’re using.
6. Now select the app you want to uninstall.
7. Confirm a second time and now you have already deleted the app you stopped using on your Smart TV.
