University of Law, a new member of Hanoi National University

Hanoi National University (UNV) held a ceremony on November 18 to announce the Prime Minister’s decision to establish the 9th university in the capital.e member – University of Law.

During the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son emphasized that it was a special day and an important event for the Faculty of Law, which is now becoming UNV University of Law.

It hailed its birth as an acknowledgment of the efforts of many generations of teachers and students over the past 46 years. Currently, the University of Law has embarked on a new path of development on a new scale.

Minister Nguyen Kim Son wished the school to continue to promote its good traditions in the field of teaching and research, contribute to the development of the legislative framework, and wish it to be even brighter in the future.

For her part, Lê Thi Quê Anh, Director of the University of Law, says that its improvement is a precious gift for all its administrators, teachers and students. It not only meets the expectations of many generations of teachers and students, but also contributes to the improvement of UNV’s development model.

This will help to improve the quality of legal training and research in Vietnam, meeting the requirements of high-quality human resources that serve the process of international integration and national development.

According to the founding decision, the University of Law will be a state university preparatory institution, a member of VNU, which will exercise its autonomy in accordance with legislative acts. It has its own legal status, seal and account and is directly managed by UNV.

On July 30, 1976, the Ministry of University Education and Vocational Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training) decided to establish the Faculty of Law (predecessor of the UNV Faculty of Law), Vietnam’s first legal institution. .

Since 2000, the Faculty of Law is a teaching and scientific research unit in the field of jurisprudence with its own stamp and account, affiliated to VNU with the aim of becoming a university.

With more than 46 years of development, the University of Law has gradually confirmed its position and role as one of the centers of scientific research, training of high-quality legal personnel, advice on legal policy for the country, as well as basic legal science. The school currently offers four bachelor’s, nine research master’s, five practice-oriented and six doctoral programs. For this 2022 academic year, 3,228 students are studying, 726 of them are at the master’s level, and 53 are at the doctoral level.

Currently, 127 civil servants and servants, including 78 teachers, work in the institution. There are 70 candidates of sciences, 24 professors and associate professors. It is one of the legal education institutions with the largest contingent of doctors, professors and associate professors.

In addition, it has a collective of more than 200 part-time professors and long-term collaborators, who are leading experts in the fields of the Milli Majlis, government, courts, prosecutor’s office, NGOs, legal sciences. professional organizations, national and foreign personnel training and scientific research institutes.

The institution is also one of the UNV members with outstanding achievements in scientific research. The institution has also achieved many remarkable achievements in national cooperation. He is the co-founder and co-founder of the Vietnam Law Schools Network.

At the ceremony, UNV published the decisions regarding the appointment of the management of the University of Law. Lê Thi Quê Anh is the director, and Trinh Tiên Viêt and Nguyên Trong Diêp are his assistants.
