A worthy successor to the excellent S21 Ultra, the Samsung S22 Ultra revisits the design of the range to take inspiration from the late Galaxy Note. This is really the big innovation of this Flaship: At the bottom there is a small slot for the S Pen. left that can be opened with a simple push. Like it or not, it feels like a scale, the S22 Ultra is a real tank that is very difficult to use with just one hand, but will appeal to mass smartphone lovers. It’s certainly attractive, but this time it retains its elegant look with a built-in photo module.
As for the OLED panel, it’s hard to complain in the slightest, it’s simply excellent quality. It is 6.8 inches with a maximum resolution of 3080 x 1440 pixels, and the refresh rate is adjusted between 10 and 120 Hz in terms of reliability and durability: IP 68 for sealing and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back for durability.

Speaking of the spec sheet, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is clear enough to justify its flagship status. Under the hood is an Exynos 2100 chip with 8GB of RAM. Therefore, it easily fulfills all the needs you might have for a phone in 2022, such as using a modern software interface without slowdowns while browsing the web, playing HD videos, even when several applications are running. background. However, it’s true that the video game part is a bit more of an issue compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered smartphones.
On the other hand, we finally see a nice improvement in fast charging from 25 to 45 W, which allows you to go from 0 to 100% in 1 hour. Obviously, it’s not at the level of Xiaomi or Oppo flagships, but it’s still more comfortable.
On the other hand, the S22 Ultra is an extreme quality phone that the competition will have a hard time with on the Android side. The 108-megapixel sensor is still just as effective in many situations, the X3 and X10 optical zooms are very clean, and a few software additions (improved night mode, stabilization, etc.) reinforce the extremely positive overall impression. Of course, we would have appreciated a bigger gap between this smartphone and the S21 Ultra, but we still remain at the top of the basket.
