The alleged departures of the Twitter Blue Team may cause another delay
Elon Musk’s main policy after taking over Twitter was to update the company’s Blue subscription service. and changing the way accounts are verified. The blue tick was initially distributed to prominent people in fields such as politics, media and entertainment. Musk has proposed getting rid of the “lords and peasants” system Twitter uses once approvals are implemented. Instead of having to meet a set of criteria and be notable enough in one field, Musk wanted to give his company a badge to anyone willing to pay $8.
Although he created a stir before taking power by promising to build a platform of free speech. after the takeover, the focus was on New Blue and would be a billionaire has teams working around the clock to meet tight deadlines and complete the project as quickly as possible. The updated version of Blue launched the day after the 2022 US midterm elections and brought with it all the chaos that many people predicted.
The original verification badge was not intended to be a status symbol; it is designed to show that the account is genuine and belongs to the person or company it claims to be. Although New Blue was able to operate to a point where a government ID was required before a stamp of approval could be issued, the badge was actually issued to anyone who paid $8, resulting in a wave of trolls impersonating politicians, corporations and celebrities. The trolls’ posts ranged from insults to comments about the war in Iraq to a few tweets that sent the stock prices of major companies plummeting. The ability to sign up for Blue has been discontinued and Twitter has gone back to the drawing board.
In the current situation, Blue 3.0 will be released on November 29. Accounts that meet the initial upgrade criteria will be eligible to receive Checkmark again for $8 per month. This date is later than Twitter previously predicted, but Musk is determined to make sure the flagship feature is “powerful” this time around.
Unfortunately for the world’s richest man, recent events may once again delay his plans to change Twitter to his liking. These recent events are entirely his fault.

On Wednesday morning, Musk sent an email to thousands of employees outlining his thoughts on Twitter 2.0. This vision could become a reality if his employees accepted to be more “hardcore”, work longer hours and work more intensively.. In addition, in this new systemonly excellence would be the passing price“, according to the billionaire. The employees who received the email had a choice: to respond positively confirming their commitment to Musk’s plans by 17:00 on Thursday, or to leave the company.

Unfortunately for Twitter’s new CEO, hundreds of employees have decided to follow his bluff and have apparently quit Twitter. As for Mavi, the people who managed the project are also gone., according to Platformer’s Zoë Schiffer. With 12 days to go before the launch date, that could mean there’s important work to be done and Musk has a big challenge on his hands. With critical engineering teams also out of business, there may be more to deal with than just restarting Blue, and even if Blue is the only problem, an entirely new team may need to be assembled. Don’t be surprised if the reactivation date for paid verification is pushed back again.
